Kirby's Pinball Land stars Kirby, everyone's big round... thing, who is battling King Dedede once again. There are three different pinball stages - Wispy, Kracko and Poppy - which are all based on levels from Kirby's Dream Land. Each pinball table has four screens stacked on top of each other, with a boss to battle at the top.
Each stage has a different way of advancing from one screen to the the next, whether it be by attacking the sun and the moon, or letting an octopus throw you up to the next stage. It's all very unique and clever, but it's much easier to go down than it is to go up!

Verdict | I never really did like video game pinball until I played Kirby's Pinball Land. I always found the controls sticky, the levels boring, and the game hard. Kirby Pinball has none of these things... well definitely the last one!! Kirby Pinball is not a game that you will fly through overnight. It takes skill, persistence, and sometimes just really good luck to get past the stages. And even if you make it past all of the stage to the boss, he can be really difficult to beat! And if you don't beat him, you'll fall back down to the previous level that you were on. Sometimes you'll go from top to bottom in 5 seconds flat, which can cause you to lose your temper (to say the least!!). Kirby Pinball is difficult, but also great fun, too. There are three different bonus stages you can access if you're really clever, and they can get you lots of points if you can play them right! My favorite would have to be soccer with the squid, who slides and jumps to try and block your pinball from making it to the goals. The graphics are really clear and easy to see, and the sound is okay with some nice remixes of the Kirby's Dreamland songs. It also has a really handy save feature, which can help when you feel that your batteries are about to die out! It doesn't have the depth of a game like Wario Land, but it is lots of fun! |
