Want to play a game in Vegas but need practice? This is the game for you. It's great in that it has all the many different varieties of play but what's best is that the instructions that are built into the game cart (so you don't need to lug the game manual around) is comprehensive and easy to understand.

Las Vegas Cool Hand has unfortunately only 3 games in the cart -
BlackJack, Solitaire and Cribbage.

In BlackJack, you can choose from Las Vegas Strip Rules to London, Atlantic City or DownTown Vegas. And as if you were a big timer, you also get to select the number of decks that the dealer should use - 1, 2, 4 or 6. Betting in the game starts with a minimum of $2 (up to $10) then as it progresses you can make it increase in denominations of $10, $100, $1,000 or $10,000.

GamePlay is easy with the use of just the directional button to select your choices and A for execution. For beginners, there is even a help function whilst it's your turn. Help as in game instructions and even help for counting the number of points you have in your hand.

Solitaire is next and this one I like. Control is also easy using only 2 buttons and for choice, you can use cards that are normal, small or smaller. Hints may be given at the press of the button. And experts may be pleased to know that a time limit can also be set.

Much to my amazement, Solitaire (I didn't know this) has different styles. In this case, it's Klondike, Elevens, Monte Carlo and Calculation. For those like me, game help for each is also in the cart. Another great feature in this game is the Game Stats Display that it has for Solitaire. At a glance, you can tell personal details like games played, games completed, best card usage, worst card usage, average card usage; best, worst and average times.

Cribbage. This is supposedly one of the oldest card games (according to the manual) but I have never played a game of Cribbage in my life. Seems that in the regular game, the objective is to reach a stated number of points, normally 121. But in here, players can choose from limits of 61, 121, 241, 361, 481 and 601 points. As for skill levels, there is simple, easy, average, hard and expert. And for style, 6 card, 6 card auction, 7 card and 7 card auction (whatever that means).

Well, whatever it is, I am sure I will be making the most use of it's help which has it for a beginner, and average and an expert player (which I doubt I'll ever become).

Verdict Very nice and relaxing and I have been enjoying it everyday since I bought it. One complain though. There are 4 slots in the main screen for game choice and since there are only 3 games, the other square is used for music selection - on or off. Hmmm... wish they had put that slot to better use and included say a game or 2 of slots. That would have really been perfect!
